Internet Addiction
The importance in internet addiction is that people are becoming addicted to what is happening on the internet and we as a society need to put down our phones and live in real time. Children and young adults are losing time spent with their families because they are too busy looking at social media or talking to their friends through apps. Obesity rates are high in the United States because children do not go outside and play with their friends. They are too busy playing video games or watching television through their mobile devices. It is important to recognize this issue so we as a generation can teach the next generation to look up from their screens and live in the moment.
I am very interested in the aspect of this addiction from young adults and children's perspectives. It is crazy to see infants handed a magazine and touching the pictures like it is a touch screen. Young people’s minds are being corrupted because of a mobile device or a computer screen. We as a society have to know what the recent news is, what the latest post on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook is, and communicating with our friends and family via text. It is important to me to have people communicating face to face again.
Hi Sydney,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great topic, and falls in line with what my blog talks about a bit. I agree and think that internet addiction is becoming a real issue as technology advances and parents are allowinf their children to have electronics at a younger and younger age. I think it is incredibly important to be able to monitor the technology use of children, as it is severly hindering their interpersonal skills, attention span, and the authenticity of the lives they are living. Great job on the blog!!
